My site was appearing in the top position for the relevant search terms. I noticed however that the content was out of date. So i submitted it again using their free add url page.
A couple of days later my page dissapeared completely from the results!!
My question is - does anyone think that that resubmitting the site caused this or are there other reasons?
I dont use cloaking, redirecting, 1x1 pixel links etc. etc.

They've been updating parts of their algo recently, to make it more inline with other engines ways of representing web data.

Your site could have dropped for any number of reasons, the web server might have been down, excite might have found other sites which it thought were more relevant to the query, etc.

I'd suggest analyzing the page, and those that are listed near the top, to see how they got there, html elements, links, etc. Going through the looksmart paid process guarantees spidering, and inclusion, but not ranking. Still once you're back there, it is only a matter of search, analyze, update, get spidered, and analyze, repeat, etc.

Good luck.
