Problem with French Coding

I though that this is the place where I need to post a problem related to French coding.

When updating templates or even just saving and reopening the files, dreamweaver changing French letters in the Head of html file (title, description). The same problem in the body. For example "é" to "e".

I am using charset=utf-8. I am not substituting "é" with "é"(the same as "é").

I hope I could describe my problem.

Anything I can do to resolve this?

Take a look at [w3.org...] and it's topics listed on the right. You need to declare the language and choose the correct character set. Not sure if you are having Dreamweaver specific issues or not as I don't use it.

Not sure why you posted this in Alternative Search Engines instead of the HTML and Browsers forum (which would have given you more of a chance for replies and help on this issue).
