Excite launches Zoom In

A new way to get relevant results?

Excite have a new facility on their site which is called Zoom In and is designed to assist surfers in getting the most relevent results from their searches by automatically applying boolean logic and assisting with spelling corrections. It seems to work OK and it may catch on - what do you think?

God help 'em - it's a popup! Can you say, good bye users? Excite will lose more users over this new "feature" than anything else they could have done. Where is the marketing research division at?

Remember when there was that American tv show "How did they do that?" that bombed in the ratings? Letterman said they were going to change the name and relaunch as, "what were they thinking of?"...applies to Excite...what where they thinking of?
