The Vaporware of Dipsie

Is it gone before it came?

Dipsie was pretty well hyped just a few months ago, and then we saw another hyping of it when they announced beta testers of their SEO product as well as their search engine -- but so far I haven't heard of anyone who is a beta tester or who has heard from dipsie whatsoever. Are they completely vaporware?

Moreover, they talked big about spidering 10billion pages by their launch this summer -- I haven't seen one thing in my logs or anywhere else on the web about their crawler.. Does it even exist?

I'm about ready to say goodbye to dipsie; even though I never had the chance to say hello!

Yeah. I think that most of the stuff has been covered in this thread: [webmasterworld.com...]

I wonder if Dipsie will rebrand itself with local search?

But this description of Dipsie's technology says it all really. :)

Good find. After all, SEO doesn't include much technology. More on the "marketing" side ;)

Local Search for the Dip? Shouldn't they actually arrive before they tackle local search etc.

hmmmmmmm, I've been thinking - have they actually got the cash to do this search service?
