Alexa ToolBar Tracks When NOT Activated?

Maybe I'm the last person on Earth to catch on to this, but it sure looks to me like the Alexa TB tracks your surfing habits even while you have it deactivated

Not sure if it keeps tracking but I know that once installed, even if not acivated, it becomes part of your IE User Agent, so shows up in the log files of sites you visit.

Wrong. Alexa is not the only one who does this. AFAIK, Google Toolbar does it too.

Alexa's known "bad" for its irrelevant rankings. Whether or not the user wants his surfing to be tracked is totally up to him.

So if you don't want it - don't install it; or if you already have, un-install it!

never said it was the only one ...
my list of scumware is pretty large and includes some stuff that "phones home" to momma while supposedly guarding your doorways and your machines ....

but if I say what I know ....

I risk the scissors ....been there , done that , can't be assed ( american spelling )..
