Alexa rank clash

Did you think Alexa ranks were unique? Two sites with the same rank.

Hi,

Usual disclaimers apply; we know Alexa isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

This caught my attention.
Overture has Alexa rank 59.
Excite Germany has rank 59.

Should that be possible?

Now, if you actually click on the second URL you'll find yourself looking at Alexa's Overture.com page. Whoops. Some foul up there.

Nothing unusual there at all. We had our brand.com URL being redirected to the companyname.com site. Two years ago we setup brand.com as it's own site on a different IP with a different host in a different country.

Alexa still shows brand.com and companyname.com at the same rank.

Have a look at the screen shots in your two examples :)
