Is MSN using Looksmart content without permission

Or did they sign a new agreement.

My understanding is that the MSN/Looksmart agreement ended on Jan 15, 2004, and a few days before, the looksmart listings disappeared from MSN.

Now I see that they are back to my annoynance. If
MSN is using looksmart listings after their agreement has expired, isn't that a violation of copyright.

Or do they have so many days to remove looksmart listings from all their servers.

Anybody, know anybody on the inside at MSN, so we can find out what is going on. Those 2 weeks of Ink traffic was nice from MSN, and I want it back.

Apparently they are allowed to use the directory "as is" for as long as they choose. They will not get any updates, however, so I would not imagine they will use it for too long. Buy who knows - msn has always been such a failure at understanding the search biz.

They wouldn't have to share it with MSN anymore? Or is this a different scenario?

LookSmart is NOT being paid. Bill killed them and then swiped a very old copy of their directory. Some say the copy is Jan 15th, I say much older. There is no way in... and no way out.

Appears he has now taken the LS listings down again. "Umm... we cannot decide who to knock off next, but, really, we are darn good at doing so!"

Interpret "knock off" any way you wish.

The ones I am looking at don't resemble any results I have ever seen. I like them I do very well in looksmart.

Yes Looksmart is gone again. I was getting worried.
I would not mind Looksmart, but they do geograhic profiling in their listings, so that means im #1 in the .ca and #43 in the .com, even though I have a .com but hosted in Canada. Looksmart never figured out that Canada for trade purposes is the United States 51st state.
