Alexa Reviews?

Why did Alexa reviews disappear?

Can anyone explain why Alexa reviews are appearing and disappearing?

Here is my scenario...

I have a client that had three or four positive reviews about his website on alexa.com. He was very excited about it and mentioned in his newsletter that he appreciated the positive comments. He would also appreciate any other comments from his "loyal fans".

A day or two later, he could not find his reviews on Alexa. They would only show up if he followed the link over to Amazon. This morning I checked again and he has 20 positive comments on Alexa again.

What is going on here?

Does anyone know why Alexa has "occasionally disappearing" reviews?

Thank you, I will email customer service.

If anyone has any ideas, I would still appreciate hearing them. If I hear anything back from customer service, I will post it here in case anyone else cares.

We also lost all of our reviews last week. We did keep our "stars" though.

There is a theory that Alexa now requires an Amazon account in order to submit reviews. Perhaps the users who gave us our reviews were not Amazon account holders?

Found some of our reviews again by drilling down to our site via the Alexa directory. However, Alexa is only displaying 3 reviews when we had about 8. Maybe the 3 are the only reviewers who hold Amazon accounts?
