Some previous threads on this:
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]

We discuss a lot about 3rd tier search engines like SearchHippo and Gigablast, but there are only few threads on this.

But a 304 million database is not bad considering its overtake against Gigablast and AltaVista's 600 million.

The thing that I don't like about this engine is it only gives 1 snippet from the page in the results (others give more) and there's no Boolean etc.

Its also got a Audio/Video search and a Picture search which are pretty good I guess. I wonder why there are no recent threads on Walhello.

304 million database is not bad

that depends on how many listings are like this one : I found my old URL listed yet it has been defunct for 3 years and is not used by anybody else?

From their about page:
At present our main focus is to increase the number of websites in our database. We have plans to index more than a billion web sites in 2003.

And since they're only at 300 million, looks like they need to speed it up...

Odd thing is, I get zero referrers from here. Anybody else?

I've never gotten even 1 referral. To be perfectly honest I never knew they were real, I've always thought they were just log spammers with a cute sense of humor.

Hi

Just looked at there results:

I don't think they have index 304 million pages, if you look at the following:

Do a search on

[gigablast.com...]

Returns 26,383,866

GB has indexed TOTAL 210,332,800

[walhello.info...]

Only retruns 225,103 web pages

Shouldn't Walhello retrun more? Maybe I'm wrong..

I just tried to do some serching on this engine, and I found that the quality of the results where really low, often there
where listings like:

17.
No Title
Url:
More results from

18.
No Title
Url:
More results from

19.
No Title
Url:
More results from

20.
No Title
Url:
More results from

and futher more some rather large websites with nice placement i the SERPs of other engines where not listed at all.

all this 300 million stuff, just shows you how much search engines even know about them selves!
