Their traffic counter seems to be back on track but their directory ranking is a mess. Sites with low traffic are ranking high and vice-versa. They claim that their top-5 in any given category is "updated daily," but I have seen no evidence of that.
Much has been questioned concerning Alexa's traffic ranking accuracy and to some extent, it is true. However, if you are comparing similar sites within a category and not across categories, I have to believe that there's some relevancy when comparing *relative" numbers...even if Alexa's useage is skewed toward the Korean population (as has also been claimed by others).
What Alexa amd other search engines need is a place on their home pages for news and update information. If Alexa had just warned everyone about the forthcoming changes, it probably would have saved countless e-mail messages to them in the past few weeks.
2003 has been a difficult year to launch a new site: between the Alexa upgrade, Google's elimination of the dance and deep crawl, and hardware upgrades at DMOZ, it has been a rough ride since last spring.
BTW: I uninstalled this toolbar and I won't never use it again (I lost enough time!).
