Does anyone know of a good spell check script?
Even a good dictionary file would help.

Spell check for what application? Via browser? (all purpose spell checker - sorry, can't find a link)

From just the desktop? (wordweb [wordweb.co.uk...] look for the freebie version)

Sorry. More info would be needed wouldn't it.

Perl script for web use.
I could probably take the dictionary file from either one of those links.

SCEB is pretty good too. However it is a tsr program (fulltime tray). I'm not fond of those.

Ok, perl script - tricky stuff. I've not seen one worth using yet. I've looked high and low.

This one looks pretty good. This would be a nice addon for stickymail....

What are the SE's using for their "did you mean to search for corrected spelling?" links?

I only wanted it for a friends free site but I thought it would also be well received on client maintenance pages. Oh well.:)

Just wanted to mention that I've used the dontpokebadgers.com one. And it was very easy to set up and get going quickly.

Caveat: requires aspell or ispell to be installed on the system - check your hosting.

Its free (wants a link), and works by a small section of javascript in the form to be checked, and a cgi that tests the selection.

Also see spellchecker.net - its a very similar concept but the cgi is hosted offsite - allowing them to advertise on your spell checker ;)

well...have you checked out cspan. I'm guessing your using windows so I won't mention that most distro's come with ispell...
