How to test if server allows wildcards or parking domains

How do I find out if our server must allows wildcards (anything.yourdomain.com) or allow you to park a domain (multiple domains using the same IP address).

Email their tech support staff and ask? I don't know of any in-browser check you can do... even if the wildcard option is turned off right now, they may be perfectly happy to turn it on at your request.
