I´m just playing around with a pretty smooth looking JS top nav bar. It's based on a huge external script. Still there is a lot of additional code on the page. Also the script I´m using, downloaded from dhtmlcentral, doesn´t work in IE.

So what's the rundown with JS nav? Recommendable at all?

If so, anybody knows a goodlooking, tested, crossbrowser compatible, free script?

I've had great results with js nav, so much so that I'm having difficulty tearing away from it and going to SSI. Take a look at dynamicdrive [dynamicdrive.com] and/or dhtmlnirvana's alchemy [dhtmlnirvana.com] for cross-browser. Of all the code I've run across dhtmlnirvana's is some of the most elegant, great logic, lean footprint, and cross-browser. BTW, NS6 is usually the problem now, or so it seems, so test, test, test.

thanks for the Alchemy link, rcjordon, it was what I was looking for, too :)

(Been a while since I coded JavaScript by hand, so why reinvent the wheel?)
