I am trying to run a thumbnail scricpt that requires * ImageMagick with PerlMagick and "Image::Size" Perl modules. The isp that I am with does not have these modules installed (suprise suprise). Is there a way I can load them within my bin folder?

Are there other thumbnail scripts that do not require 'magic?

Will the ISP not load the modules for you?

No, they said they will not install modules upon customer's request. I said I would gather them for them but still they refused. Great customer service..huh

There should be a forum to list poor ISPs.

My hosting providers refused to install ImageMagik also. But they did have the GD librarys installed (for Perl) and compiled into Php4. I was able to do everything required using GD.

It might be worth checking to see if the GD stuff is there and then looking for a GD version.

If they don't have GD then I second your proposal for a naff ISPs forum ;)

AW, do they happen to have GD installed?

I do know there are scripts where you can have the thumbnails on a static HTML page and the script will link the thumbnail to the full sized image. In one particular case a background graphic is displayed full page without having to "do" the page, the script generates it. That requires nothing that isn't on all servers with Perl.

I went hunting for thumbnail scripts a few weeks ago and have some bookmarked, but I believe a lot of them did need GD. What exactly do you want the thumbnail script to do?

No they don't have GD installed either. I want to point the script to an image directory and have an easy way to display the images. I want something that will automate the process...Know of any other alternatives?

Send me a sticky note if you want the poor ISP
