instal tutorials

hi there.
when ever i install a script on any of my sites i always seam to hit problems to the extent that i spend hours looking at a huge varity of 500 error pages, the main problems i seam to have is the cfg file and chmod'ing the permissions. does anyone know of a good site (suitable for a perl newbie) that has straight forward tutorials.

I can't think of any sites that have what you want (I'm sure there must be some out there), but there's quite a lot of hints and tips on getting scripts to work in these threads:
