Hi!

Has anyone had any experience installing an autoresponder script on a Cobalt Raq?

Thanks,

Dennis

Yes. What is the script written in and how's it's suppose to link in? There are several different methods.

If you're trying to fire a perl script from a .forward or procmail....very few hosts will allow this.

I'm want to install AutoResponsePlus, and it can work with either .forward or procmail. (Cobalt tells me both run on the Raq.)

Thanks,

Den

That's what I thought....it's up to the host whether they let the .for or proc files fire the perl script....if you visit the forums at ARP you'll see lot's of people are finding this a problem.

It's a great script but the .forward thing kills some of the functionality. You can still set it up and use it but the bounce email removal and email unsubscribe functions won't work...no biggie really. I 've been playing with that one for a couple of weeks.

My one host (cobalts) says it will be hard to find a host that will allow perl to be run from the .forward files. Hostway is the one host I know of from the ARP forums. Beside that I haven't heard of any. My advanced hosting runs qmail and that's another hemorroid altogether.

Cobalts support both proc and .forward but it's up to the host to let you run perl from them. If they do please let me know who you use.
