I am looking for a script, if not I'm going to try and write one (god help me!), that will send an email.

Seems simple, but with all the scripts on the internet, you have to specify all this stuff etc... and its sooo complex and when your done config-ing, you find it doesnt work, blah blah blah!

Isnt there just one 'holy' script that will parse info from a form and send it to an email address? No need to specify the fields, or anything like that!

Just click and send?

Try something like the NMS Formmail script:

[nms-cgi.sourceforge.net...]

There are quite a few "formmail" scripts out there, many of which suffer from security defects which allow spammers to use your form and site for sending out messages.

The above script has an excellent reputation, but you will still need to check regularly for updates, and carefully read the instructions to set it up to only allow sending mails to specified addresses owned by you.

As there are automated searches for files names "formmail.pl" or "formmail.cgi" you should also rename the form before putting it online, just to be on the safe side.
