Amazon (and other affiliate) redirects?

I went to an affiliate site that links to affiliate sites such as amazon and CJ with something like this:

<a href="publishersite.com/go.php?url=www.qksrv.com<etc...>

does anyone implement such a setup, and does this interfere with the cookies that get set?

instead of sendingh the regular mime heater (content-type: text/html etc, you need to print

Location: yoururl\n\n

The URL needs to be complete i.e. it must start with http://
