The webmasterforums site (origin of boardpower)seems to be in disarray at the minute with the runner aparently absconding.
In the past there was mention of a bphackers site specialising in BP mods.
This site has closed I am told.
I am interested in finding a copy of the multiple moderaters modification. Having a single moderater on a 24hr 7 day a week message board has it's limitations.
If any one can point me towards a copy of this it would be a great help.
Regards
Michael
You're seeing the pretty side, you should see the engine room! We moderators have been turning in our own "design specs" for custom board apps since May '00 and Brett's been coding like a banshee -this is killer board software. What we have to work with now as management tools would make other boards drool.
We started out with BP, and everybody said "yeah, it's great" and then immediately started asking Brett to tear off one module and custom-build another to replace it. As I recall, there were at least two major problems -maybe more- that cropped up soon after WmW got hot-hot and we started piling up the posts into the thousands. Numerous other semi-serious problems were uncovered along the way, too. At any rate, huge chunks of code were abandoned and new logic added -all done on the fly. It's my understanding that there's almost nothing left of Boardpower here except the paint job. At last count, less than 5% of the old code was running, and that is scheduled for the final boot in a month or two.
Is there any chance that the code for this board will become available? And if so, where would I go to find it?
