OK, I have a script that auto generates an email. This email contains link text to cut and paste.

It is sent plain text, but Outlook and its variants insists on turning <A href="http://www.somesite.com/">somesite</A> into an active link. (Unfortunately it is a broken link, since the active part is http://www.somesite.com/">somesite)

Any way to overcome this?

Couldn't you just send it as www.somesite.com? (i.e., no HTML). Or, if you need the HTML, send it as MIMEPART/TEXT.
