I'm putting together some ideas for a Q&A facility in a site. The objective is to invite a 'Guru' on a particular subject (tax, HR etc) to take questions in 'real time' from visitors. This wouldn't be a permanent feature - something which would be trailed for a particular date and last for a couple of hours.
If a success, it's a feature that I'd like to stage maybe every quarter or something like that.
Ideally, the Guru would be able to to this from his PC, visitors would ask questions from their PC and the questions could be answered online by the Guru. The whole thing would be accessed/take place within the existing web site - rather than require special comms. software or email clients.
As a novice (OK on the 'big-ideas', useless on the technology) I'm wondering if there are 'off the shelf' solutions which can add this kind of functionality to a site or if it's a 'custom programming' job.
Also, wondering what the server requirements would be to achieve this sort of thing.
As mentioned above, I would like this to be very straightforward in operation without the need for the visitors to download any special software and the Guru to be able to do this from his/her PC via the site.
Any suggestions, experience or guidance would as usual be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
