Introduction to mod_rewrite

Where can I find a beginners guide to mod_rewrite. I don't need to use it now but I see many of the pros at WMW refer to it, so I want to find out where and how it is best used.

Have you tried the Apache site kapow? I havent had a chance to read it so not sure how newbie it is but it might be a starting point.
