hi, I have been offered a link from a PR5 site for a cost of around $200. the site is actually selling something and looks pretty good, not just an article farm.

It will be a clean one way link from a content article of my design on it's own page. Probaby also a blog comment included as well.

What is the going rate for a PR5 link?

Are there any guidelines?

Digicam,

Completely depends on what your selling. If it's a site about used and smelly socks, $200 is too much. If it's a high value subject, then it's a bargain... Also, 200 per what? annum? month? day? one-off?

Hi, it would be a year, but it may last longer.

The site is relevant to what I am selling and is a quality site.

I was going to write a page about my product and put it on their site with links back to me.

Just wondering what people paid for such links.

Many thanks

Since I don't know the exact topic and deal you make with this website, It's not safe to say, but $200 for a quality link from a quality site isn't much. Go for it, you wont loose out too much anyway. If you like, you can sticky me the URL of your page and the page you want to advertise on. Then I can be more definite on whether it's worth it.

Of course, please be sure to check the traffic of the web site. If this web site receives a lot of traffic, it sounds like a pretty good deal as long as your link can be found easily enough from their visitors. I don't think its the best deal if the site doesn't receive much traffic. I have a couple of PR5 web sites that receive less than 2,000 visitors per month and links on those sites would only reasonably sell for 100-150 for a year.

$200/year is a good deal no matter what. Just make sure the page you provide for your link is linked to from a page with descent PR, unless you are simply doing it for the traffic, and for that you should consider the traffic of the and the page your link will be on.
