I will begin running the Buddy Link spider, some time this weekend. User Agent will have "buddy links" in it for identification.

The spider will hit your links page and verify it is there. We just do a compare of links that are there and links that were generated when you signed up. This should keep the system honest. It will weed out those signing up just to get links (which has happened several times already).

Hi Brett,
I'm a bit confused by the whole transition thing - is my site [www.womensmedia.com] a part of this buddy list or do I need to resubmit?

No, you don't need to do anything. This just replaces the mailing list that was at buddylinks@searchengineworld.com.

Sorry for the confusion. That never occured to me. You will still get a batch of links via email.

Which reminds me to ask, when should I generate another round of links? Say when we hit 100 links?

100 sounds about right.

Another question though, Will I then be posting a new list with 100 links - or will this list be pyramidal (only posting the sites in front of me)?

Yes, you will be putting up a new page with 100 links in it. The pyramid part happens between the big gains in users. Such as those that signed up early, have their links on 28 pages as we speak, while those that signed up around 20, have theirs on 8. Just depends on how fast we grow.

I've been wrong a time or two before but I really believe this is the start of something big.

Hi Brett,
I'd like to submit another site to Buddy Links - where should I go to do this?

Just go ahead and submit it on the submission page Marshall. As long as its a separate site, with a separate links page, I don't see any problem.
