Site1 - Was PR5 and now Google has wiped all back links, no cache, no PR. I am going to try and clean the site up is its a bit dated and there must be something within that Google does not like. The links pages have lots of related links but i am wondering if i should bin them all and start again?
There is too many to go back and check by hand especially as some are 3 way links so my site may not be on theirs - Any ideas? should i leave them and concentrate on updating the actual site?
Site2 - its new, Has a PR4 and links pages are PR3 (hardly any links). Is linking the way to go? I have heard many people saying that Google now frowns upon linking with other sites? In that case should i do 3 way linking? or should i just find lots and lots of directories?
Lots of questions here, if anyone can input it would help me making a starting point before i begin wiping out pages of links or starting a linking campaign for the other - thanks folks!
The second site needs to get exposure, it gets zero hits and the only way to get found is surely bt adding my info to directories or swapping links?
Your plan sounds a bit drastic, have you tried to narrow down the possibilities?
Doing so would also help you plot a safer course for the second site, maybe ask for a review on a forum that allows that.
As for coming back from the dead, the feeling was things were never quite the same after a ban, but that may have changed in these days of reinclusion requests ;-)
