Linking from Blogger

I am thinking of starting a blog on Blogger. Considering that it is a Google company, will links on it to my other web sites be of any help? If they get indexed well, links in blogs could be usefull for the SER.

It's my experience that links in undeveloped blogger pages are no more or less useful than any other very low value links - simply taking a new blogger account and linking to your own sites wont do a whole lot, even though they are a Google product.

The trick, as always, is developing the blogger pages / source site so that when you link out you're actually passing on some of that preceived worth / development time.

I wanted to start a blog anyways, and I ll try to make it semi descent content wise. I'll still try to get the links though.

I started a blog with this in mind and within two weeks the blog itself went to number 10 on an important keyword.

Gotta agree with Dreamquick. A blog with no entries won't have many pages to show links from. You'll have to make that blog important enough for the links to really count in a significant manner.

That said, I don't think having a blogger blog will make the links more valuable than they would be from any other blog.

well, I started my blog. I update it once a week, with a pretty long entry.

Obviously, I didn't target any keywords, as I am doing this for fun. I didn't check if it is in the SERPs yet, probably isn't.

I also put Adsense in there, but talking about some pretty sensitive topics, like politics, seems to be a no-no for adsense, so I guess I wont be making cash with it.

Still, I hope that the blog might get picked up somehow by the blogspere, and I'll try to link more to my main site. I actually want to link to specific articles on my main site with specific text in the anchor.

Basically, most of the inbound links to my main site are directed to the index page and use only 2 keywords. Hopefully, I can somewhat redirect google and the other bots deeper in my site with a wider diversity of keywords. That is the main idea actually.

Just submit to all the blog directories if you're looking to gain the blog itself some backlinks, etc.

Do you have any idea on blog for travel content? That is effective to your ranking. How about linking from publishing article versus linking from blogger? Which one is best way to do?

Any idea?
