It will be a pain in the butt to transfer ads one by one into the MSN system. Does anybody know, is there a way to upload them all in a spreadsheet like I can with OV? I took a quick look around but didn't see anything but I thought I would ask in case I missed it.
I know I can upload the KWs, but I want to be able to dictate on the spreadsheet which order they would be assigned to with what text and URL.
All we can do is upload ads to an existing order for split testing. This is a poor solution because why can't the user be given the ability to split test like you can in Adwords.
All in all my first few hours in adcenter have been disappointing.
webpublisher - is the site still hanging for you? does it hang only when you're trying to import?
is anyone else having issues with the site hanging?
thanks,

I'm sitting banging my head on the table saying NO No no - surely I don't have to manually enter each ad - please let be another way!
I'm with you on that one webpublisher. I am basically looking at transfering hundreds of ads over, each one is tightly focused with 5 to 10 KW phrases each (you know, like they tell you your suppose to do this). It's a super headache to have to do one at a time and the weather is getting way to pretty outside for me to spend time putting them up one by one right now.
I don't know why G (and now MSN) don't offer a nice ad upload feature like OV has. Man, if it wasn't for OV's upload, I am not sure I would do much with them at all as their interface is dog slow.
Also, in regards to the bulk upload process I've had problems because there are several different forms and examples located throughout the website. For example on the main page (yesterday) I was able to find a section titled "Friends of Yahoo & Google" which explained how to use the bulk downloads from Yahoo and Google to create a bulk upload for the adCenter... it was incomplete because it didn't explain which column to place the bid amount in. I can't find it online today so maybe it's been taken down. But I spent a good portion of my morning today attmepting to use the info I found yesterday to bulk upload the keywords.
I'm also having issues adding keywords using the 'Clipboard function'. I have copied items from my excel spreadsheet into the clipboard and it will not accept them. I've saved the files as .txt, .csv, .xls, and .doc and attempted to copy and paste from the clipboard and have failed each time. Any suggestions?
Thanks
There are some tools that will convert adwords to OV, but I don't use them as I find it just as easy to get a few adwords reports and just cut and paste what need in excel. But I am pretty good with excel, so I do some stuff that makes it easy to cut and paste that's a little hard to explain clearly unless you see it.
Tigerlilies, at least you give me some hope. Maybe they have an upload feature but are still working on bugs with it.
I was okay with uploading the KWs with the spreadsheet but I found that I had to download the sheet from their site, add the KWs to it and then upload it. It would not work any other way. Also, if there are errors, you must re-browse for the file after you fix and save it or it won't work, even though the file path is the same. I could not get the clipboard to work either. I think with the KWs, I would justlike to see an easy form box that I can paste into. It is really just the easiest way. I think they tried to get a bit too fancy with the KW upload thing.

Google is slowly rolling out bulk-download and upload features. I work for an agency and the bulk-download is slowly rolling out across the accounts we manage. About 10 of our accounts now have the download feature available. From what our Adwords rep said the ability to upload should start rolling out within the next couple of months. (I'll keep my fingers crossed.)
The Yahoo bulk download I thought was available for all accounts. I have opened accounts for our clients that were not linked to our agency account and the download feature was there and usable. The only issue we have is occasionally our keywords get rejected for duplication during the upload process. Then I just contact our rep and e-mail him the bulk-upload and he puts them through a separate approval process.

If you look on this page it has a different set-up for the bulk upload form then the section in the BETA version of Adcenter.
Which one is correct because I can't get either of them to work for me.
Tigerlilies -- we've received a lot of feedback about the import function and it's on our list of features but i'm not sure of an ETA - i will try to find out and let you know.

Once the file is uploaded, and it shows it has errors, I have about a 50/50 shot right now of being able to get the file that show the errors. Sometimes it opens the window and I get a little red x box and sometimes it opens the file. Then I have to fix the errors and go through the whole thing again. Download the file, cut and paste in, etc. Last week it seemed I could edit the file a little but just had to re-browse for it to reupoload it (despite the fact that the path in the form was exactly the same). If I did not re-browse, I would get the excel/csv error message. This week, that does not seem to be happening. The file seems to need to be created from the begining of the process.
BTW In regards to errors, it would be so much nicer if you just discarded the duplicates rather than forcing me to clean it up and have to go through this whole process again.
I simply renamed my Excel file to "Import.xls" and the "Excel and comma-separated..." error went away, to be replaced by "The file contained errors..." message which told me that "Parameter 3 is greater than 30 chars."
In the instructions for params [advertising.msn.com] it states:
1. Under the parameter 1 column, copy your destination URL's from your original import file.
2. Under the parameter 2 column, copy your headlines from your original import file.
3. Under parameter 3, you will need to first, copy your description line 1 column, then separately copy each description line 2 in the same cells as the description line 1 column. MSN adCenter only uses one line for the ad description.
So:
Param 1 = Destination URL
Param 2 = Headline
Param 3 = Description Line 1 + Line 2 (70 chars. on G)
Definitely my Param 3s are longer than 30 chars, as they comprise the complete, 2-30char-line description from Google ads, as the instructions describe.
Maybe they're not set up to use this instruction, yet, and are currently only for {KEYWORD} substitutions, but nothing linke the doc states?
Is anyone successfully uploading ads to MSNAdCenter without problems. I plan to look into this tomorrow but won't bother if feedback comes back that this is still a frustrating experience.
I have had a few hundred clicks in the last few days on the 4 ads I set up a few weeks ago. I would now like to upload thousands of ads with as little fuss as possible. Just hoping I can download the spreadsheet, fill it in and upload - then move on - am I just dreaming at the moment?
Each order has one keyword, but with the 3 options.
Therefore I plod on adding each new order, I have about 2500 to add and I'm going stir crazy!
This is simply because I have the information in a spreadsheet but Adcenter doesn't allow me to upload a spreadsheet where each row would be a keyword with columns for the campaign and order names. Just like we have with Adwords.
I no longer see any functionality for uploading spreadsheets, except when you are in an existing order and want to upload keywords to just that order.
Please can someone remind me where it is? If it in fact exists?
I really need this feature if only to stop me going mad. Do MSN really think people are going to manually set up each & every order without the aid of proper upload features?
