Meta Tags for phpbb

Is it worth adding such MOD's

I see there is a recent MOD which helps add Meta Tags to phpBB forums.

Yet from what I've read Meta Tags are no longer of interest to search engines. My question is, is it worth using such a MOD on my phpbb forum?

The Meta tags you want to use are the Description and Keywords tags. Neither is of critical importance, but a well constructed page should have them, and they should be relevant to that page.

With PHPBB forums, it is not necessary to use a mod for meta tags, if you go to support on phpbb.com, there are plenty of very easy to follow tutes on editing them yourself.

but again, google doesn't really bother with them anymore...so it's entirely up to you

I wouldn't put a page on the web without properly formed and appropriate description and keyword tags. While they are hardly powerful optimization elements, there are circumstances where they may have a minor impact, or where the description is displayed as the page description.
