Any downside for a USA site hosted in Canada?

Worried about SE ranking when served to USA folks

I found a hosting comany whose offering is quite appealing to me. However, I'm in the USA...and the host is in Canada.

If I create a site with Adsense or with affilite links, will the SE rankings served to USA searchers be adversely affected since the IP will resolve to Canada, rather than the USA?

No, it won't hurt at all in my experience. You will also gain taffic from Google.ca in all probability. Many Canadian hosting companies have their servers in a datacenter located inthe USA though, so you may want to do a tracert on the nameservers etc.
