you can also try running AdAware [lavasoft.nu] to see if that will remove it. IT does a registry scan for common spyware that sometimes will do what you are describing.

Click on the Startup tab and look for any processes that begin with regedit.
You might see something similar to the following:
regedit -s C:\Windows\sp.dll
If so, then almost certainly an ActiveX routine tagged your browser. The problem is that with each reboot, the bugger reloads the takeover script.
Most of the items listed in the Startup section of the System Config Utility will have familiar names or abbreviations. The paths are displayed as well, so it id not difficult to spot a supicious contender.
You will need to diable the routine that restablishes the "Home Page" each time Windows is rebooted... you can do this by "unchecking" the box next to the suspected process. This will prevent it from running after reboot.
Before rebooting, go back to Internet Explorer Tools and swith the homepage to whatever you wish.
Reboot, and check the results.
Hope this gives you something to work with! Best of luck!
You might even consider trying Opera (or Mozilla) as an alternative. I personally LOVE Opera for all of its conveniences... One that is very popular as well as useful is the built-in zoom feature. Check it out.
