How do I erase a web site

I have a site that consists of a couple of pages on a web hosting service

Hi, can someone please give me some advice?

I have a site that consists of a couple of pages on a web hosting service. I want to erase it and start with a clean slate. How do I do it.

I have tried publishing a new web over it, but the old page remains as the home page. I am publishing with Front Page.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried FTPing to the server and deleting the pages you don't want?

After uploading, you may see old files due to caching. A simple refresh is not good enough in IE. You may find ctrl or shift F5 works in IE. Firefox and Opera are better. A refresh in Opera seems to fix all caching issues except the favicon.
