IIS file upload problems

I'm running IIS5.0 on Win2K server. There are a number of sites(school websites) hosted on this server. Now each school everyweek has the ability to add to each of their sites their weekly newsletter....ie there is an admin account to which they logon and then update the newsletter.
For the last 2 weeks say 4 schools when they logon and go to Add a new "Newsletter" they keep getting this wierd error: '

HTTP 500 - Internal server error

Could someone please help me out findind a fix to this error.

All assistance or pointers is much appreciated...

I'm a bit unclear about the nature of the logon.

Is there a CMS running? Is this an ftp file upload? Are the people using a uniform WYSIWIG program to create and upload pages?
