I need some clarification of the true meaning of what a "blog" really is...

I have (several) websites that I post to (I write new articles, make a new page for each and then upload the page) every day.

I write articles, etc about real estate investing (an interest of mine and a great money maker), web marketing and AdSense.

Is this the kind of blog/site I need that'd *conceivably* get indexed fast? Do I need a place where people can respond to my inquiries? What good would blog software do?

Thanks for your help!

A blog is an online journal, not just a site that gets updated regularly. Blogging software makes it easier to update and allows other people to comment, which is important in developing a community around your blog.

Blogging is a world unto itself, not the sort of thing that a forum of Adsensers can teach you about with a thirty-second explanation. You need to check out some sites about blogging, read some blogs, etc.

What good would blog software do?

It would make your site a 'real blog' ;) Like people have said here a 'standard website' you update regularly isn't a blog (and I'm not saying that like it's a bad thing lol). Blogs have rss feeds and allow comments and get their feeds listed places and do trackback and stuff that your site probably doesn't do as it stands...

Judging by a browse through Blogger, a Blog is a small site targetting high cost Adsense keywords and consisting of a repetition of related phrases, and/or a collections of links to a single site with carefully selected anchor text.
