Alexa Traffic

Why am I not listed?

Why am I not listed in the Alexa traffic directory. I enter my website URL and it says "No data", and does anyone know how I can get listed with traffic info?

What is your actual traffic?

Probably your traffic is very low or your site is new. Try to install Alexa toolbar (for one month if you don't like Alexa) to see better result.

CAUTION: Alexa toolbar might cause your IE to crash if you open too many browsers at the same time. Also your Antivirus or anti spyware software might give you spyware alert.

Adding the toolbar to your personal machine will help you get listed. However, don't expect the site popularity figures to be accurate. I once had the toolbar installed on a few machines that were involved in the development of a new site. Within a fairly short time the site cracked the top 100,000 with little traffic outside of these select computers. The Alexa traffic figures have very little bearing on reality until you start getting into the top 10,000 region.

Yee probably you need more traffic, to rank high... I have submitted my site to search engines ... I can type my main keyword and find my site. BUT it is not listed in alexia, I have poor traffic.

Check your logs and look for the Alexa bot, but mostly if your site is new, or has little traffic, it won't show up. Do the basics that you will read in these forums and you should show up soon.

As a side note, anyone know why one of my sites is mixed up on Alexa with another? My site is <snip> but when you type that in, it comes up with <snip>!?!?!? crazy

I emailed them but w/ no response.

You want to put the text file on your server with your information. You may also have a redirect or something screwy in your HTAccess file ... or the Alexa bot is being denied by your server, thus, it can't update.

Thanks for the hints, but no. It was that way before I bought the domain name. The Alexa db is messed. I also wrote a script a while back to automatically check domains and their rankings on alexa and it would come back with crazy results like this every once in a while.
