What the heck is ww4?

I have a few of these domain names with something
along the lines of ww4 or ww2 rather than www. I am rather new to the web developers world so I am curious what these domains are and if I can get one if I wanted. Any help is appreciated.

It's just a sub-domain, the same way that www or FTP are. Or images.example.com.

You can have as many as you like. The way that you configure that may vary depending on your hosting and domain name registrar.

quite often when a site uses www www1 www2 etc etc they may be using it to load ballence their site. In other words spreading the load to various other servers.
