Forum Moderators: phranque
I'm trying to find CMS for an upcoming web-project with which I'm affiliated with. It will be a books-catalogue with a large community of users. The main two functions of the site will be:
1. Organisation of the catalogue of books.
2. Organisation of community relations, conversation and so on.
But I'm not worried about the second point, cuz all modern CMSes have some kind of a forum or a comment system.
I'm more concerned with the first point.
I need a CMS with very good capabilities for information categorisation and classification.
Previously I worked with drupal (very close) and some other systems (less close) and am not satisfied with its capabilities of categorisation, cuz in drupal categories are just meta-data and nothing more. Categories themselves are not bits of information (or nodes in drupal terminology) like forum topics, news, links or files on the site.
But for our project we will need that each category will be a bit of information with its own meta-data like title, description, relationships.
So may be we need not a cms with sophisticated categorisation capabilities, but a cms with capabilities of setting parent-child relationships betweeen the bits of info on a very large scale? And these relationships must be really flexible in a way "many-to-many", where only admin can decide if this particular category (or a bit of info in our case) will have no children or have 100 of them and be a child to some other category or even a child not only to 1 but to 3 or 5 categories of higher level.
So is there a CMS which can supply us with such categories-management features?
Or was I not clear and some additional explanations are needed?
Thanks in advance!
