Mirror Sites and Search Engines

Not sure how SEs rank mirror sites

I've been told time and time again that mirror sites aren't gonna get a good ranking, or they're not even gonna be considered by SE. I just did a search on google using a popular keyword for my site's content and I was surprised to see a mirror site displayed with the first 10 returns.What do you guys think? Is it possible to get a good ranking with a mirror site?Thanks

not sure what you mean by dynamically generated. it is exact replica.it's the exact site and i used a so called "frames technique" to redirect visitors from the new domain to the actual one. actually i'm not using it anymore, but if there was a way i could get good rankings i would since it's got a good design:))
