I've created a backup using cpanel for a large (and growing) site; the backup is about 2.2 GB. Using smartftp, i can't see the backup in the root folder. my host tells me that the backup files are too big for the FTP server to recognize. is there another program or method i can use to download the backup? on a sidenote, what is proftpd; would using this help the situation? thanks!

I am using rsync (over ssh) to transfer 60GB+ files

thanks for the recommendation. am looking for something that's relatively user friendly like smartftp (for use with windows) - rsync struck me as something where i might screw up something by mistake; or is it really quite simple?

as a note; our host switched from pureftpd to proftpd, and the problem seemed to have been solved. i can now see the larger files using smartftp.
