Hi sunandoghosh:)

Maybe the files are damaged? Maybe you should delete the old files and download new ones?

If this doesn't work you should have your pc scanned for viruses or spyware programs. Sometimes files/programs can be placed on your pc that will cause your pc to malfunction.

Hope this helps:)

Are you downloading them from a secured site (https)? MS IE has boatloads of known issues for SSL when it concerns PDF files.

I think what everyone's getting at is to solve a problem, you have to eliminate possible variables.

Somthing that's unclear in this thread: Are you clicking the file and opeing it directly in IE, in a browser window, or downloading it to disk and opening it in the Acrobat Viewer? They are distinctly different environments with a common helper app.

If other users can view the PDF's, they (should) be fine.

So try to eliminate IE issues. My suggestion would be to view it in a different browser, if you have one.

Another way to eliminate IE from the equation: right-click the PDF, select save as and save the file to disk. Open the Acrobat Reader and try opening the file that way.

i have heard the name of different browsers like firefox but then i am not any advanced user...also i have just 1 -2 hrs dailr for computer as i am in finance field...so wanna stick to IE with which i am comfortable (unless shifting is absolutely necessarY)

I am downloading it to disk and opening it in the Acrobat Viewer? yes.......

any other idea /suggestion?

feeling so frustrated not able to view pdf document...

The MS folks have been aware of their browser issue for some time, and may or may not know the solution, if they did, I imagine they would have fixed it by now. A host of Knowledge-Base articles and web pages concur:

[support.microsoft.com...]
[support.microsoft.com...]
[support.microsoft.com...]

... this list goes on. I can't drop any links, but google for "internet explorer cannot download" and you'll find plenty of other pages where folks have put all the troubleshooting possibilities on one page. There is a bunch of them.

rocknbil is correct though, you'll have to eliminate possible variables, one-by-one.

Sorry, don't mean to confuse you, just offering links to the issues I have seen that might aid in your troubleshooting.

Let's take a step back and start off as suggested -- try a different browser first to see if you are able to bring files down uncorrupted.

Prepare yourself for the a real viewing experience ;)

No extra steps required. Both MS IE and FireFox can coexist on the same machine with no issue.
