Drupal & Mambo

anyone with exp. with both can give some +s & -s

Hi everyone,
I've been having a look at so many CMSystems that it's become a blur.

Mambo and Drupal both seem v.powerful, similar, got v. substantial forum and 3rd party support and some history.

So what are some of the key differences between these two giants of Open Source that might make someone lean towards one or t'other?

Have you compared them at CMS Matrix [cmsmatrix.org]? It looks to me like the biggest difference is that Mambo requires shell and root access while Drupal doesn't. So it sounds like you should have a dedicated or virtual server for Mambo.
