Adding search to my site without using database

Site is pure html only.....

A wee bit of background. I have a site with 150 product pages written in the simplest of html. Site is well-liked by engines and generates a fair amount of business. Consequently, I don't want to change "anything" and risk loosing business.

But my customers ask for a search function. Is it possible to have a search site function without using a database?

I have tried using GigaBlasts search engine but the site does not do well with some of the letters in my language - specifically å, ä and ö.

Thanks for your help.

I'm assuming you either don't have online database access, or don't want to introduce new database processing to your site.

You could consider using a desktop application which can do the indexing off-line and be uploaded as a complete search engine with it's own efficeitn internal database.

I think that's the concept of Search Engine Composer and several others:

If the site is well-indexed, then you can simply use a free Yahoo or Google search box which will allows users to restrict their search to just your site:

Yahoo: [search.yahoo.com...]

Google: [google.com...]
