When I (Save As) on a pic and the save picture box pos up, it only alowes me
to save it as a bitmap. It doesn't give me the choice to save it as e.g jpeg.

Is this normal? or is there anything I can do.

Also, I have noticed that more and more pics are now in bitmap rather than jpeg, any views?

Thanks

Bitmaps are the wrong format for web graphics due not least because of the file size. Windows does not provide a sufficient default toolset for producing web graphics: you need a proper image-editing program such as the professional program Photoshop, the cheaper program PaintShop Pro, or the free (and excellent) Gimp for Windows.

I do believe this happens when your Temporary Internet files folder is full. If you clear that I think you'll see the options appear in the dropdown to save as the correct format.

You could use a different web browser such as Mozilla Firefox. It does not have this problem. ;)
