Hello-
Can anyone recommend a solid task management solution? ...Preferably open source. I am need of something that my clients can log into and create tasks for me to do. Some features would be assigning priority, email user when status changes or work has been done. Basically, looking for something more robust than email communication.

Thanks!

[webmasterworld.com...]

Which is now located here:
[cade.datamax.bg...]

That does an approximation of a Palm app - which has a task manager in it.

Check out Basecamp at [37signals.com...] - you can set up one project for free, though multiple projects will require a monthly fee.

One open source solution is phpCollab, but the development effort has been spotty. If you are lucky enough to be able to do a clean install and get everything working, it might serve you well.

Thanks... I saw that. Though it does get spendy. I currently have phpCollab, but it is almost to intense. More than I need and what I want is not in there. Thanks again.

I haven't had a close look but at cursory glance it looks to me like an open-source task manager application based on the Palm task manager.

How confidential is your task list likely to be? I've previously set up collaborative/task based managers using a Wiki engine. You can password protect the web folder it resides in.

Looking for something that a client can log into and add a task. When adding a task, they can set the priority and etc... When ever the user makes a change, it will email me. When I make a change it will email the client. I would like to find an open source project that is really supported by the community.

Sounds like something you could have custom coded for a fairly reasonable price as it really doesn't seem too complicated. I'd try posting a project with your required details at [elance.com...] or [rentacoder.com....] See what kind of bids you get (no charge to post the bid). I've had good luck going that route many times on things that were above my skill level.

Do you want something based on ASP.net. I do use one that is pretty simple and good.
