we ship worldwide and it has become apparent that different countries lay out their postal addresses differently.

being a perfectionist i like to get it right and every little bit helps towards a positive customer experience.

so i'd like to ask:

What is the Correct way to address an envelope in your country?

perhaps we can collate a comprehensive list here, i'll start with the UK

[dr/mr/mrs/ms OPTIONAL] [first name or initials] [last name]
[flat number (if exists)], [house number/house name] [street name]
[town or city]
[county OPTIONAL for cities]
[post code]
[UNITED KINGDOM]

note: a possible extra address line before the town/city

so for example, my town residence might be ...

Mr Top R8
flat 4, 26 Example St
London
W1 1AA
United Kingdom

and my country seat (i wish) would be ...

Mr T. R8
6 Tree Lined Street
Nice Small Town
Oxfordshire
OX3 7NN
UK

Dont forget Village in the UK.

Mr Foobar
House Name (or Number and Street)
Village (or district)
POSTAL TOWN (preferably in caps)
(County optional)
Post Code
UK

e.g.,

Mr Foobar,
Dunroamin,
Little Village,
OXFORD,
OXx xyz

Although anything should be deliverable with just a house name or number and a Post Code.

When sending to german speaking countries from elsewhere:

[Herr/Frau OPTIONAL] [first name or initials] [last name]
[street name] [house number/house name] [flat number (if exists)]
[post code] [municipality]
[Germany/Switzerland/Austria]

Herr T. Bird
Beispielstrasse 123
12345 Entenhausen
Germany

Between german speaking countries:

[Herr/Frau OPTIONAL] [first name or initials] [last name]
[street name] [house number/house name] [flat number (if exists)]
[D/CH/A -] [post code] [municipality]

Herr T. Bird
Beispielstrasse 123
D - 12345 Entenhausen

where:
D -> Deutschland -> Germany
CH -> Confederatio Helvetica -> Switzerland
A -> Austria

A few other european Counties use the same system, but I don't have an authoritative list at hand right now.
