Hi,

I would like to know why the websites that are for sale on ebay are most of them "private auction", even when this are not adult websites.

The only answer that I have is that the sellers want to confuse people that somebody else is bidding on this item, but they bid themself till a certain amount.

What do you think?

Its done to hide the fact they are selling the same site over and over again with just a domain name change. No change in the products sold.

Youll find that in general its an OSC based site selling gear from a dropshipper, its means for them a bundle of money for very little work.

On the other hand, there are some high profile sales and a private auction guarantees the privacy of those bidders.

Sometimes I have bid on some sites and then spammers see this and send me offers to sell me worthless sites.
