I have build my own forum software and it's working quite well. The only problem is; forum moderation takes quite a lot of time on a popular forum (for the topic area & language) . The forum used for testing has about 15 new topics,100 replies and 1000+ topic reads a day. As a moderator I see the messages exactly as on webmastersworld (new for newly posted, or unread reply in etc) and ordered the same way. I can delete, move & edit the messages. This takes a lot of time.

So my questions to all moderators (all, not only webmastersworld ;-) ):

- How much time does it take of your day?
- How busy is your forum (post p. day)?
- What technique or tools do you use?
- What kind of tools are on your wish list

My major complaint about my current forums software is that as a moderator I cannot edit someone elses script from the forum thread. I can delete a spammy post but to edit the post to take out a URL I have to login to admin. All that burns up time.

Moderating any active forum can be time be very time consuming. I wish I could type faster. :)
