Does anyone know where I can erase all the items in the browser cache from IE. I've got a bunch of different hotmail user account names (from visiting friends) as well as stock quotes, user names etc. that will not go away even when clearing temp files, page cache etc.

I run a program upon startup that clears all cookies, history and page cache files, but the browser cache files always remain.

Hmm... in my Explorer preferences directory there's the History.html file, and the Temporary files folder... And in the preferences menu in Explorer, you can view your cookies and delete them manually.

Have you tried all those angles?

Cookies, history, and page cache are no problem deleting. It's the actual memory of the browser that I can't get.

For example when I go to google and just click on the query box without typing any query in, all the queries that have ever been entered will pop up. Same goes with usernames at hotmail, log in pages etc.

I didn't realize a browser had any kind of memory past it's cache, history and cookies.

I'm stumped. Hopefully someone will happen along with another suggestion...

Perhaps this bit from [google.com] will help you out:

To disable this feature on Internet Explorer 5.0, go to the Tools menu; select Internet Options; select the Content tab. Within the Personal Information area, select AutoComplete. Click on Clear Forms. You can also uncheck the Forms box in this same window to keep this from occurring in the future.

Alternatively, you can delete individual entries from the history by using the Down arrow key to select a previous search, and then pressing Delete while an unwanted search is highlighted.

Hope it helps.

Thanks amoore. It was the autocomplete.
