Does anybody know how to insert the "cents" symbol in Dreamweaver?

I'm not sure about your comment. If you hold the alt key while you press the number 0162 the character will appear in DW.

Another opion is to use charmap and cut/paste. You'll find charmap under programs>accessories>system tools.

The 'cent' sign is an extended character. Extended characters are 'typed' using the alt key plus a keystroke number. You can search that topic for more info and a complete list of characters with their number codes.

it works fine...

1. press and hold the "alt" key
2. on the keypad to the left, press "0162"
3. let up off the alt key

try it in notepad and you will see it works...

Jon's way is by far the simplest, but you can also type ¢ directly into your code, or go to insert > special characters > other > (and choose the 'cents' symbol in the list)

I Use alt + 155.

I have an old DOS manual with all sorts of special keystrokes. It works in most programs.

¢ - including this one.

W3C Character entity references in HTML 4 [w3.org]

I find this very useful for characters/symbols irrelavent of the WYSIWYG.
