How do you show your clients web site and/or logo examples?

And how many do you provide?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out another way to provide web site and/or logo examples for potential and existing clients so that they cannot copy them.

I have saved them to a web page and used the no right click script before, but that doesn't work in Netscape/Firefox browsers.

I have just been inserting or attaching them to an email message with a transparent text company name over it.

Does everyone do it this way? How many do you provide? Say someone pays $1000 for a web site - how many examples will you build for them, included in that quote for the web site? What if they aren't happy with the ones you provide, do you charge extra to create additional examples?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I usually have a signed contract and deposit from the client before we show any concepts. I will tell the client what I'm thinking of for their site, get their input, etc. Usually we go back and forth pointing to various sites with components we like, so that we have an idea of what the other is thinking. Then after the contract is in hand, with deposit, we move on to showing them the actual concept.

I think the number of concepts you show your client depends on the client and the job. If the client knows exactly what she's looking for, then great, one concept should be fine. You can tweek it from there. If the client has no idea, then you may need to present a few.

I don't think there is a set rule for such things.

You may want to consider adding to your contract that the client only has rights to use the designs and images and logos they select and agree upon as the final work product. Otherwise, the client might feel free to use your alternative ideas which could be used for other clients. Make it very clear that if they use the other designs that were rejected that they will be charged extra.
