Forum Moderators: phranque
But how can you manage this if you're moderating messages. The client does not have the personnel to constantly check for new messages, but will not consider an unmoderated forum. They're worried about libelous remarks etc.
What's the solution ?
Some thoughts if your forums script will allow this:
1. If you can try logging and showing IP's for posters. This can act as a deterent.
2. Require registration with verification of email addresses. Again it helps as a deterent to Spammers.
3. Instead of pre approving each message have your moderators check for spam postings at least two to three times daily. Don't let spam linger because it attracts even more spammers like carrion eaters.
4. Post the usual legal disclaimer.
It may never become active as long as posts are not quickly approved.
I don't allow non-members to post in my own forums even though that means they will grow slower. There are too many people willing to spam.
Your mileage might vary.
